Join the founding team

Cobalis is recruiting its first members: four leads and a group of hub analysts. If you want to do serious work on critical metals alongside your studies, this is the moment to join.

Who we are looking for

Rigour and curiosity matter more than how far along your studies you are.

Engineering
Materials, chemical, process and mining engineering, geology
Economics and business
Industrial economics, finance, strategy, supply chains
Political science and law
EU policy, trade, international relations, regulation

Our publications are written for a specialised audience. Our team is not: you do not need prior experience in the metals industry, only the willingness to learn it properly.

Membership is open to all, whatever your university, your location or your level of study.

What you gain

The plan

Where Cobalis is going, and where you come in.

  1. 2026 We are here

    Founding team formed

The operational board and the first hub analysts are recruited, and the first two hubs start work.

Join as a founding member and shape how Cobalis works.

  2. 2027

    Public launch

First publications, the beta of the CRMA tracker, an open launch roundtable and the first case night.

Publish your first work and present it to industry and policymakers.

  3. 2027–28

    A wider programme

A third hub on recycling and circularity, a hackathon series and a policy event in Brussels.

Lead an event or a research line of your own.

How to apply

Applications go through a short online form: your name, email address and phone number, your CV, and a few lines on why you would be a good fit. Tell us there which role interests you. You can apply for more than one role.

The form is hosted by Tally, an EU-based form service. See our privacy policy for how we handle applications. Questions before applying? Write to nael.bouzi@cobalis.org.

An honest note: Cobalis is new. You would be joining before the first publication, the first event and the first partner. That is the opportunity. The work you do now defines what Cobalis becomes.
